Mental Health First Aid

In Australia, approximately 1 in 5 adults will experience mental illness in any given year. Mental Health First Aid training is essential for today's workplace. Running over 2 days, Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 October, the Mental Health First Aid training course will introduce participants to the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems. The course teaches participants how to provide initial help; where and how to get professional help; what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective; and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation. After completing the course and passing an examination, participants are certified for 3 years as a Mental Health First Aider. Includes light lunch, tea and coffee.

The Stretch & Strengthen class is a mix of Chinese chi-kung (qigong) exercise and yoga style postures.
